School for Strings is a New York institution—founded in 1970 by Louise Behrend, it’s one of the premier Suzuki-based music programs in the country, training young musicians ages three through eighteen in violin, cello, and piano. The school needed a website that honored its 50+ year legacy while modernizing the experience for today’s parents researching music education for their children. We designed a clean, elegant site that reflects the discipline and artistry of classical music training, with warm imagery and clear navigation that guides prospective families through the school’s comprehensive program offerings: private lessons, group classes, music theory, orchestra, and ensemble instruction.

Beyond the student programs, School for Strings runs a respected Teacher Training Program that draws educators from around the world seeking Suzuki pedagogy certification. We structured the site to serve both audiences—parents exploring options for their children and professional musicians looking to deepen their teaching practice. Custom post types organize faculty profiles, program descriptions, and the school’s active blog, which shares insights on Suzuki philosophy, student achievements, and music education best practices. The result is a site that positions School for Strings as what it is: a serious, nurturing environment where young musicians develop not just technical skill, but a lifelong love of music.
