Mosquito Corp has been protecting Westchester homes and businesses from mosquitoes and ticks for years. What they didn’t have was a website that reflected the quality of their service. 914Digital changed that with a complete ground-up rebuild — a fully custom WordPress theme, a lead generation strategy baked into every layer, and a design that positions them as the premium choice in a competitive local market.
The Design
The visual direction was built around trust and authority. A full-viewport hero with a parallax background image, dark green gradient overlay, and fade-up animated content sets the tone immediately. The navigation floats over the hero as a frosted glass pill — transparent on load, transitioning to a clean white bar on scroll — giving the site a premium, modern feel without sacrificing usability. Every color, spacing decision, and typographic choice was made to signal professionalism to a homeowner making a buying decision.
The Build
This is a fully custom WordPress theme — no Elementor, no Divi, no pre-built templates. The entire front end is hand-coded using Bootstrap 5 for the grid and layout system, with a custom stylesheet that owns every pixel. The theme is fast, clean, and completely maintainable without plugin dependencies.
Content management is handled entirely through Advanced Custom Fields Pro. The hero, services section, testimonials carousel, guarantee section, and CTA bar are all fully editable by the client through the WordPress admin — no developer required for day-to-day updates.
Services are managed as a custom post type with a custom hierarchical taxonomy for service categories. The homepage pulls the top three services dynamically, the services archive page loops all of them alphabetically, and each individual service has its own single template with sticky sidebar navigation linking to related services.
Gravity Forms powers both the contact form and a dedicated referral program form — custom styled to match the site’s brand with rounded inputs, lime green focus states, and a fully overridden submit button. The referral form captures both the referring customer’s information and their friend’s details, and fires automated email notifications to both parties on submission.
The mobile experience got the same level of attention as the desktop. Rather than a standard Bootstrap collapse menu, we built a custom slide-out panel from the right — dark background, smooth cubic-bezier animation, call and text options, and a Pay Now button — all triggered by a lightweight vanilla JavaScript handler with no jQuery dependency.
Legal & Compliance
With SMS marketing central to Mosquito Corp’s customer communication strategy, we built fully custom Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages with proper SMS consent language, opt-out instructions, data handling disclosures, and carrier compliance copy. These pages are built as named WordPress page templates and styled to match the site — not generic legal text dropped into a default page.
914Chat — AI Lead Generation
Every 914Digital build now ships with 914Chat, our proprietary AI-powered chat widget built on Claude AI. For Mosquito Corp, 914Chat is the conversion layer that works around the clock.
What makes 914Chat different from off-the-shelf chat widgets is the email gate. Before a visitor can send their first message, they’re prompted for their email address. That email is captured immediately — before any conversation begins. Even if the visitor abandons the chat after that, the lead exists. For a local service business running seasonal campaigns, that’s a meaningful difference.
914Chat also supports page-aware quick prompts so visitors can navigate directly to key services or ask common questions without typing, voice input for mobile users, full conversation logging so the business can review what visitors are asking and identify conversion opportunities, and complete brand customization including widget color, button style, welcome message, and white-label branding for premium clients.
The Footer
The footer is a full conversion section in its own right. It opens with a contact form — conditionally hidden on the contact and referral pages — followed by a guarantee section that communicates Mosquito Corp’s 100% satisfaction policy alongside a $50 referral promo card. Below that, a four-column footer features the logo and tagline, a quick links navigation, a live WordPress loop pulling the latest services, and a contact column with address, a call/text dropdown, and email. The bottom bar includes copyright, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service links, and the 914Digital credit.
